Corrections
The purpose of a correction is to improve the accuracy of the record, not to defend the original publication.

Commitment to accuracy
The Edged-Weapon Response Lab aims to publish accurate, well-supported work. When a substantive factual, analytical, citation, or transcription error is identified, the Lab will review it and correct the published material where warranted.
Corrections and revisions
Minor edits that do not affect meaning—such as spelling, formatting, or typographical corrections—may be made without a formal notice. Material corrections that affect a factual statement, interpretation, conclusion, citation, figure, or other substantive element will be identified transparently. Where appropriate, the publication will note what was changed and the date of the correction or revision.
Updates are not necessarily corrections
EWRL publications may also be updated when new evidence, research, data, legal authority, or other relevant information becomes available. An update does not necessarily mean the earlier version was incorrect; it may reflect a fuller or more current evidentiary record.
Versioning
Where publications use version numbers, substantive revisions will ordinarily be reflected in the version history. Earlier versions may be retained where useful for transparency and research purposes.
Reporting an error
Readers are encouraged to report potential errors, missing sources, broken links, or material omissions. Reports should identify the publication, the issue, and any supporting source where available.
Editorial independence
Requests for correction are evaluated on the evidence. The Lab does not alter findings solely because a person, agency, organization, or other interested party disagrees with the analysis.
Corrections principle
The purpose of a correction is to improve the accuracy of the record, not to defend the original publication.
