Independence & Disclosures
The Edged-Weapon Response Lab is an independent applied research initiative. Its research and editorial conclusions are not directed by law-enforcement agencies, government bodies, advocacy organizations, litigation parties, or commercial entities. The Lab discloses relevant funding, professional relationships, external contributions, and potential conflicts of interest. Its analysis does not presume that police conduct is justified or unjustified; conclusions are based on the available evidence, applicable research, and relevant legal framework. Material uncertainty, competing evidence, and significant limitations are identified where possible.
-
Editorial standards
The Lab prioritizes primary sources, distinguishes fact from interpretation, identifies uncertainty and competing evidence, and corrects material errors transparently. Legal, scientific, and tactical claims are limited to what the underlying authorities and research support. Where the evidence does not permit a reliable conclusion, the Lab says so.

Citation & Reuse
Cite it, share it, and build on it — but do not copy or republish EWRL work as your own or reproduce it wholesale.
-
Corrections
The purpose of a correction is to improve the accuracy of the record, not to defend the original publication.
